I have been writing, probably not as much as I should, but I definitely still push myself to write.  However I haven't been posting most of my work because simply they're aren't finished.  Now, I'm no perfectionist who sets high aims for his art, but I do have a craftsmen care for my work.  Rather than pumping out stories to meet some self-set arbitrary goal, I seek to achieve a certain quality with my work.  Now, quality itself is a difficult term to describe, but for me I know when the story is complete when it reflects to me the desired emotion I wanted from it.

I'm sure its no secret that I'm a huge Bill Hicks fan.  One of my favorite quotes of his is "Play from your fucking heart," and thats how I like to write.  I want the story not just be interesting, but written in a way that people can feel that it contains a piece of my soul.  While much a story may in fact have that quality, it will undoubtedly contain rushed parts as I get to a point where I can't pour more heart into it and just want it over.  Instead of posting such a story, I shelve it, give it time, go back remove those rushed parts, and then write from my heart.

Its seems that I can write such a story, every three months, some of which you'd have to venture into Luxuria to read. My orginal goal this year was a short story a month, and a novel a year.  I realize now what it would take for me to ever produce that much with my expectations of quality.  Instead, perhaps I'll work on a drabble a month, a short story every three, and a novel well...perhaps I'm not the novel sort of writer.

Oh yes and the site still looks nothing like I'd like it to be.  Perhaps some day when I have more time.

Gospel of Na'reth, Chapter Two

E-mail Print PDF

I went through Misinterpretation and renumbered the verses.  It was my original intention to have eight chapters of 64 verses, but I didn't think I had it in me to write seven more stories like this.  Since a one chapter scripture is unheard of, I organized it into eight mini-chapters of eight verses.  Tonight's rewrite signifies that I am working on a chapter two, complete with a companion story.  Course, now I'm committing myself to six more chapters, but the Goddess wills it.

I always like to give a nod to my inspirations for stories.  This story literally grew from a kernel of a thought, more of a depressing emotion that I felt too much.  Its grown into its own self, but that seed came from Wolfsheim's "Once in a Lifetime."  Not only was the song masterfully done, but the video (directed by Iwie Candy X07 of "Throw That Beat in the Garbage Can" fame) was a beautiful interpretation.  Wolfsheim's website can be found here: http://www.wolfsheim.de/ and I recommend getting their DVD, Kompendium; which includes the song and video.

Saligia Redesign

E-mail Print PDF

Well as you can guess I finally got off my butt and gave this site a proper design.  Its still a work in process.  Many of the stories that were once here have been archieved and will return more organized and grown.  This redesign also gives me a chance to better seperate the stories from my commentary.  Commentary will be in its own news section to allow me to give visitors various updates, such as this.  My more erotic stories will be relocated to a different branch of SALIGIA to allow readers to enjoy my fiction.

In the following weeks, Superbia and SALIGIA as a whole will return to its previous size and I look forward to writing new stories.  It is my hope that you're just as eager to read them.
